A giveaway became something much larger: a family-wide search for the stories still waiting to be told.
Volume 2 invited readers to listen. What came back were messages, family histories, photographs, documents, corrections, and new branches of the Townsend story.
All 25 complimentary audiobooks were claimed in less than 48 hours.
The Response Was the Real Story
More than a promotion
The audiobook offer introduced new readers to Brothers of the Revolution, but the most important result was what the family sent back. Descendants and researchers began sharing leads, memories, documents, photographs, and corrections that reach well beyond the seven brothers at the center of the first books. Fresh family material is filling gaps, challenging old assumptions, and opening Townsend lines that may support stories of their own. We are grateful to the living descendants and researchers who have shared material. We will not identify living contributors without their permission.
What We Are Learning
The story is bigger than one branch
Book 3
Fresh research is already strengthening Brothers of a Restless Frontier and restoring people or events earlier histories treated only briefly.
The James Townsend Line
New material on James and his descendants may support a substantial story of its own. The rule remains: verify first, then write.
Correcting the Tree
A key correction places Thomas Townsend and the Marlboro siblings in the line of John and Cortney Townsend rather than Light Townsend. Better evidence improves the story.
More Lines to Follow
Every branch has its own migrations, wars, marriages, losses, work, public service, disputes, and quiet lives. The Chronicles began with seven brothers, but it need not end there.
